Elidia C. Fidel, D.D.S.
Dr. Elidia C. Fidel, a children's dental specialist, is the primary Pediatric Dentist and owner/founder of Fidel Dental Group.  She is passionate about helping children and teenagers maintain beautiful and healthy smiles by establishing a positive attitude towards dentistry.  Dr. Fidel has been practicing Dentistry for 30 years.  She hails from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where she was graduated from the Dental Faculty of Valenca and practiced as a general dentist for the National Health Service (INAMPS) as well as in her own practice in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro.  She came to the United States in 1990 when she married her husband and made her home in Washington, DC, becoming a citizen in 1998.  She completed a two-year postgraduate program in Pediatric Dentistry on Howard University in Washington, DC in 1997 and has been practicing dentistry since then.  In 1998 she opened a private practice in Washington, DC and a second practice in 2004 in Arlington, VA.

Dr. Fidel has dedicated her Arlington practice to serving the needs of the  local community.  She maintains a bi-lingual clinical and administrative staff to serve her Hispanic patients.  She has created a "kid-friendly" office to introduce her patients to preventive dentistry while still at a young age.  She makes a special effort to ensure quality dental care is accessible to her patients.  Dr. Fidel sees patients as young as one-year old through their adolescent years.  Dr. Fidel is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, and she is a proud member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.


Jeffrey H. Brain, D.D.S.
Dr. Jeffrey H. Brain was born in Quantico, VA and raised in Lima, Peru.  Dr. Brain speaks fluent Spanish.  He graduated from the University of Maryland Dental School in 1991, with a D.D.S. degree, and received the Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Periodontics.  After being commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy Dental Corp, Dr. Brain attended a one year General Practice Residency, and worked as a General Dentist for four years.  He graduated from a three year Residency in Periodontics at Bethesda Naval Post-Graduate School in 1999, and obtained Diplomate status by the American Board of Periodontology in 2000.

Dr. Jeffrey H. Brain voluntarily separated from the Navy in 2002, and now lives in Bethesda.  He practices in the states of Maryland, Virginia, and D.C.

Shiva Y. Kermanshi, D.M. D.
Dr. Shiva Y. Kermanshi received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of California.  She then moved to Boston, where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine certificate from Boston University with Magna Cum Laude Honors.  While in Boston, Dr. Kermanshi volunteered her services annually for the physically and mentally challenged children through the Special Olympics, Special Smiles Program.  She was also involved in services pertaining to under privileged youth through the Outreach Van Project.

Dr. Shiva Y. Kermanshi earned her degree in Orthodontics from Howard University, in Washington, DC, achieving the highest academic average amongst her colleagues during her postgraduate study.   Her 2 years specialty residency included advanced education in Orthodontics and Dental Facial Orthopedics, early treatment for children, adult Orthodontics, Invisalign certification, and Orthodontics for patients undergoing Orthognatic Surgery.

Dr. Kermanshi prides herself in providing the highest quality Orthodontic care in the most gentle and efficient manner possible.


Clifford H. Selinger, D.D.S.
Dr. Clifford H. Selinger is experienced in Prosthodontics and General Dentistry with over 40 years in practice.  He is a Life Member in the American College of Prosthodontists; a Life Member of the American Dental Association, and the Florida Dental Association.

Dr. Clifford H. Selinger was born in the state of New York.  He has graduated from the New York University, College of Dentistry in 1964, where he continued to earn his experience as a General Dentist.  In 1970, Dr Selinger received his Certificate of Prosthodontics.  After serving in the Air Force, Dr. Selinger was appointed to the Children's Medical Service, state of Florida, as a Consultant in Prosthodontics, Cleft Palate Team, to treat children with developmental or birth defects who needed Prosthodontic care.  He then worked in private practice for 5 years in the state of New York, and moved to the state of Florida, where he practiced for over 35 years. 



Henry D. Dean, D.D.S.
Dr. Henry D. Dean graduated from University of Maryland in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.  He continued his post-graduated studies at New York University College in Dentistry.  After graduating from dental school, Dr. Dean served as a chief resident of the general practice residency program at Montefiore Medical Center Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York.

As someone who believes education is a lifelong process, Dr. Dean is constantly taking continuing education courses not only to foster his knowledge but also benefiting his patients.  He is currently an attendee of the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI).  Dr. Dean has gone to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry meeting to further his understanding of cosmetic dentistry.  Regardless of his busy schedule, Dr. Dean volunteers his time at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic.  He received the Ellen Flanagan Volunteer Award given in recognition for his service to the community.  Dr. Dean is an active member of the Virginia Dental Association and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Dean is a native Virginian who is thrilled to be returning home.  His wife Therese is a pediatric dentist whom he met during his residency.  Dr. Dean enjoys traveling with his wife and experiencing different cultures.  Dr. Dean is an avid sports fan who likes golf and tennis.

Passionate about his career, Dr. Dean finds the greatest satisfaction in creating beautiful smiles and healthy functional occlusions for all his patients.  He is dedicated to providing the highest quality of dental care while implementing the most modern, evidence-based techniques. 

Dr. Ruth Wise attended the Mayor University of Saint Andrew (Universidad Mayor de San Andres), in Cochabamba, Bolivia, where she graduated in November of 1998.  She continued her studies in the University of Minnesota where she graduated in 2004 as a General Dentist.  Dr. Wise is fluent in Spanish and she has been practicing dentistry for over 11 years. 

Dr. Wise enjoys exercising, hiking, kayaking, and going camping.  As any Bolivian native, Dr. Wise loves Bolivian food and dancing to Latin music.


Uma Chaundhari, D.D.S.
Dr. Uma Chaundhari attended the Manipal Dental School where she graduated in 1987.  She then continued her studies in the Medical Center of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University where she graduated in 1995 as a General Dentist.  Dr. Chaundhari has been practicing dentistry for over 13 years.

Dr. Chaundhari enjoys crochet, reading and baking goodies.
