Elidia C. Fidel, D.D.S.
Dr. Elidia C. Fidel has been practicing dentistry for more than 29 years. She hails from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where she graduated from the Dental Faculty of Valenca and practiced as a general dentist for the National Health Service (INAMPS). She also owned a practice in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro.
Dr. Fidel came to the United States in 1990 when she married her husband and made her home in Washington D.C., becoming a citizen in 1998. She completed a two-year postgraduate program at Howard University in Pediatric Dentistry in 1997 and has been practicing dentistry since then. In 1998 she opened a private practice in Washington, D.C. and a second practice in 2004 in Arlington, Virginia.
Dr. Fidel makes every effort to ensure dental care is accessible to her patients. She has dedicated her Arlington practice to serving the needs of the immigrant community in which the practice is located. She maintains a bi-lingual clinical and administrative staff to serve her Hispanic patients. She has created a kid-friendly office to introduce her patients to preventive dentistry while still at a young age. Dr. Fidel has treated children as young as 1-years-old and sees patients through childhood to their teenage years.
She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. Dr. Fidel is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Shiva Y. Kermanshi, D.M.D.
Dr. Shiva Kermanshi received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California. She then moved to Boston, where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine certificate from Boston University with Magna Cum Laude honors. While in Boston, Dr. Kermanshi volunteered her services annually for the physically and mentally challenged children through the Special Olympics, Special Smiles Program. She was also involved in services pertaining to underprivileged youth through the Outreach Van Project.
Dr. Kermanshi earned her degree in orthodontics from Howard University in Washington, D.C., achieving the highest academic average amongst her colleagues during her post-graduate study. She completed a two-year specialty residency in Advanced Education in Orthodontics and Dental Facial Orthopedics, early treatment for children, adult orthodontics, Invisalign®, and orthodontics for patients undergoing orthognathic surgery.
Dr. Kermanshi is a member of the American Dental Association and prides herself in providing the highest quality orthodontic care in the most gentle and efficient manner possible.
Clifford H. Selinger, D.D.S.
Dr. Clifford H. Selinger is experienced in prosthodontics and general dentistry, with over 40 years in practice. He is a Life Member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Florida Dental Association.
Dr. Selinger was born in the state of New York. He graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 1964, where he continued to earn his experience as a general dentist. In 1970, Dr. Selinger received his Certificate of Prosthodontics. After serving in the Air Force, Dr. Selinger was appointed to the Children's Medical Service of Florida as a Consultant in Prosthodontics, Cleft Palate Team, to treat children with developmental or birth defects who needed prosthodontic care. He then worked in private practice for five years in the state of New York, and moved to the state of Florida, where he practiced for over 35 years.
Ruth K. Cangé
A resident of Northern Virginia since 2006, Dr. Cangé earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in 2008. She successfully completed her Residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in 2009, concentrating on Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Cangé is passionate in addressing her patients’ dental needs and concerns. She takes pride educating them in all aspects of oral health. Her philosophy is to create smiles that reflect who you are, enhancing your teeth and your overall health. She is committed to helping patients maintain a healthy lifestyle with great teeth and gums with the latest cosmetic dentistry procedures. Overall, she is dedicated to helping her patients create infectious smiles.
Dr. Cangé continues to further her dental education in order to provide cutting edge treatment to her patients. She is certified in Invisalign and she uses Microperforation technique with the Propel device in accelerated Orthodontics to decrease treatment time, boost patient comfort to create bright and beautiful smiles. She is also certified in soft Tissue Laser Dentistry.
Dr. Cangé has served the District of Columbia community for 7 years as an associate dentist. As an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, she is dedicated to providing individualized dental care that transforms the appearance of her patients. In her spare time, Dr. Cangé enjoys working out, staying active and spending time with friends and family.
Ruben Cuellar, D.D.S.
Dr. Ruben Cuellar has been associated with our practice for 10 years. He has been working as the principal dentist in the office since 2012. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in Cochabamba, Bolivia in 2002 and completed further studies at Howard University in 2012.
Dr. Cuellar takes a yearly trip to his home country of Bolivia each year when he travels into remote villages to perform dental services for those who have no access to dental care. Dr. Cuellar is also active in the Catholic Center which provides dental care for those without adequate access to quality health care.
Dr. Cuellar speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese. He loves sports - especially soccer, volleyball, basketball and enjoys joggin, fishing, and hiking with his family. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Northern Virginia Dental Society, and Virginia Dental Association.
Fernanda Levine, D.D.S.
Dr. Fernanda Levine was born and raised in Belem, Brazil. She earned her DDS degree in Belo Horizonte at Pontificia Universidade Catolica de Minas Geras, Brazil in 2007 and completed a general practice residency in 2013 at Saint Mary's Hospital, Connecticut, an affiliate of the Yale University School of Medicine. Since dental school, she has been practicing general denistry in Northern Virginia as well as providing treatment for underprivileged populations through volunteer service projects. Dr. Levine is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Northern Virginia Dental Association. She speaks Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
Dong-soo Hong, D.M.D, F.A.C.P.
Dr. Dong-soo Hong received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University. He moved to Boston to receive a certification of Doctor of Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Hong moved to Long Island, NY to attend one-year of General Practice Residency at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine. He then moved back to Boston to complete three-year specialty residency in Prosthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. During the residency, he has lectured in Minuteman Lecture at Yankee Dental Congress in 2013. After finishing post-graduate Prosthodontics program, he has obtained Diplomat status by American Board of Prosthodontics.
Dr. Hong has been on short-term mission trips to Haiti and South Africa to provide dental care and help missionaries with vocational Bible study and evangelism.
Jeffrey Henry Brain, D.D.S.
Dr. Jeffrey Brain was born in Quantico, VA and raised in Lima, Peru, where he grew up. He speaks fluent Spanish. Dr. Brain graduated from the University of Maryland Dental School in 1991 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and received the Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Periodontics.
After receiving an officer commission in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps, he attended a one-year General Practice residency, and worked as a general dentist for four years. He graduated from a three-year residency in Periodontics at Bethesda Naval Post-graduate School in 1999, and obtained Diplomate status by the American Board of Periodontology in 2000. Dr. Brain voluntarily separated from the Navy in 2002, and currently lives in Bethesda, MD.
